Private Lane Delivers Herman Machine to Town
Private Arthur T. Lane of the 105th Field Hospital arrived Saturday with the automobile ambulance donated through the Dorothy Herman Fund. He traveled 900 miles from Spartanburg via Charlotte Greensboro Richmond Washington Philadelphia Newark to reach the city. Major M. A. Stivers commanded the unit and Lane joined the 105th, with Mrs. Stivers and daughters returning later. The ambulance will be kept at the Post Garage pending disposition. the motor truck stays at Camp Wadsworth under Sergeant Pickard. Albany Law graduates 27 as enlistments thin the class. Morris Cohen and Franklin A. Schriver are among the seniors. Schriver is son of Rev. Dr. Andrew Schriver. Alexander Craig of Middletown Leather Co. pledges five percent of earnings this week to the Red Cross.

Broken fire alarm circuit triggers repeated sounding
Fire alarm repeatedly rang this morning as repairs continued on the system. Chief Higham said Fred & Smith, the system superintendent, had been working on the lines for several days. While repairs were underway the circuit remained broken causing the false alarms.
