Tract Overlooking U S Reservation Purchased
New York March That Andrew D Meloy indicted in 1815 with Franz von Rintelen for his part in the Dansport frauds and the German export to stir up by 35 in Mexico made an effort in more than a year ago to buy the same tract of mountainous land in East Fishkill that was purchased recently by Dr Ernest Se Runha was one of the developments yesterday of the government's investigation into German spies in this country Sekunna who was arrested on Tuesday with Dr Chandra Chakra Dery accused of aiding the German government to stir up Strife in India recently purchased a tract of two hundred acres in the mountains near Beacon The land is at an elevation of 1300 feet and though the German physician represented it for bungalow sites it is known to be unsuited for such a purpose Howat develops that more than a year as a Meloy passing as the representative of a Mexican railway contractor went to Beacon and hired a real estate agent for the purchase of the same tract The agent called Meloy at his office No 55 Liberty Street several times and finally the deal was called off Land Near West Point It is significant that the land now stands in the name of Dr Sekunna a confessed agent commands the sovereignty reservation at West Point Fishkill the village where Sekunna holds is on the east shore of the Hudson River about six miles north of West Point It is notable that two men tied to German plotting should have sought the same tract and one ended with it indicating a conspirator more desperate than expected The order is conferred As a conclave of Cyprus Commander No 67 ELT held Thursday evening the Order of the Temple was conferred on a large class of candidates.

Goshen March Forenoon the Grand Jury handed up indictments to Justice Morschauser and completed work for which it had assembled. Indictments against individuals in custody were made public. Rev Samuel A Crawford faced fourth offense grand larceny charges from dealings with Rev Dr Stanley. He pleaded not guilty and sought to prepare briefs with a hospital ward request. Crawford held on $10,000 bail. if convicted, maximum penalty is imprisonment. Other defendants named include Moses Solomon for illegal liquor traffic and forgery, John Hargreaves for abandoning his son, John Haley for burglary, and Harry Ostrander for burglary and grand larceny. None tied to the Marbrook raid were made public. Foreman McMonagle received a silk umbrella gift. County Court meets next week for civil then criminal cases.
