North End Train Crew Fears Wild Cats On Board

A northbound extra train near Sullivan County reports conductor Amey and engineer O’Neal in charge. Conductor Amey and crew members describe a frightening encounter with ferocious animals, perhaps wild cats, while a brakeman and others rushed to secure the caboose as the train rolled toward Brown’s Pond. The tale remains disputed by the engineer and fireman, but the incident closely follows reports of dangerous wildlife in the area.
