Twenty eight years ago Wednesday the old Casino on the Stratton Theatre site was destroyed by fire. The building had served as an armory for the 24th Separate Company and stored ammunition that exploded, rocking the neighborhood. Mrs. Joan W. Murphy died Tuesday at the Murphy Hotel in Oakland Side after a short illness. Charles O Nell is a local brother.

At 1 pm Recorder Starr heard People v Robert Tourbillion and Morris Zucker of New York charged with carrying concealed weapons under the Sullivan law.
