The Building Committee of the Board of Education reviewed Middletown school plans with Commissioner Finley and department heads in Albany. They approved design concepts by Mr Canfield with suggestions for more outdoor court space, and ordered final drafts and cost estimates for a special election. The plan includes auditorium gymnasium 16 classrooms workshops kitchens sewing rooms storage and related facilities spanning a 170 by 190 foot lot to fit the slope and maximize educational use.
