William L Cook, Third Ward supervisor for six years, died at his home on Farmington Street from pneumonia after a brief illness. Born March 2, 1845, he was a partner in a family horse business with his brother Frank. He leaves a daughter Marion Brown Cook and widow Varon Brown Cook, plus his mother and siblings. Funeral Saturday at 2 PM conducted by Rev J Lewis Katzock. Cook belonged to Newburgh Lodge Elks, Lawson Hose Company and Newburgh City Club.

Second Degree Murder Sentenced in Goshen Court
