A blaze at 60 Genang Street broke out at 3 am on a freezing morning, quickly consuming the barn on William Ahern’s estate and leaving the house occupants evacuated. NQ Plans to Relieve Guard at Catskill Aqueduct
New York February 12 General John F O Ryen said there is no plan to relieve National Guardsmen on duty at the Catskill aqueduct in Putnam county. He added no such plan will be considered while service is indefinite. Hamilton Fisk Jr of Garrison started a fund to provide guards with hot coffee and sandwiches as two feet of snow and 10 below zero temperatures caused hardship.
