David C. Roe died this morning at 39 Lake Avenue in the 75th year of his age. Born in Port Jervis on January 19, 1845, he was a painter by trade and long served in Masonic bodies including Holman Lodge 412 P and A M Midland Chapter 100, Cyprus Commandery 67, and Queen Esther Chapter 136 O E S. He held roles such as usher, sentinel, and devoted member, leaving a deep sorrow in the community.

Five Armed Men Rob Brooklyn Street Cars in Flushing Elmhurst
Five bandits in a green touring car held up five surface cars in Flushing and Elmhurst districts. Revolvers were aimed at the motorman and conductor during the first raid. In the business section of Flushing the men boarded the car and forced the motorman to speed away before escaping with the loot.

Raphael Lucabetti a Walden shoemaker shot and killed John Schoonmaker a night watchman at the Orange County Traction Co office in Newburgh after a rebuke over carrying a revolver. Schoonmaker died soon after. Lucabetti travelled from Walden missing the last trolley and then went to the power house vowing to stay. Grand jury in Goshen may indict.
