Albert D. Cox, meat market proprietor at Fulton Street, was robbed of about 60 dollars and beaten by three masked men as he closed his shop and walked to his home at 36 Ridge Street. The assailants, described as colored, fled toward the Children's Home grounds, leaving no easy trace for police. Cox remained active in the hunt, aided by Officer Thompson, W L Wood, and Chief McCoach, while authorities pursue clues and suspect identities. Roger W Sears Dies Suddenly in Liberty
Roger W Sears longtime Liberty resident and former Suivan county treasurer died suddenly Saturday night at his home. He was son of the late Alfred W Sears and brother of Miss Plums E Sears of 143 North Street who had come to Liberty for Christmas. He was a druggist by trade and survived by several relatives. a further obituary will follow. St Pauls Church Sunday school authorized a condolence dispatch to Miss Sears, a prominent worker there.
