City Council Sets 1519 Tax Levy and Water Frontage Fees
The Common Council reports a 1519 tax rate of 27.61 per thousand, down from 28.25 in 1918, on a total levy of 5,340,026 with requisitions of 285,953.12. A sinking fund deduction of 43,323.77 is allocated to the Water Department. A water frontage tax of 1,397.84 on 69,592 feet and 214.45 on 70,475 of improved property without water is also assessed.

Phelps Son Killed in Action in France
William Phelps of 21 Fulton street received word that his son Lloyd B. Phelps was killed in action in France on November 3. Born April 14, 1896, in the city, he enlisted in the coast artillery at Fort Slocum in 1914 and rose to sergeant in Company A, 204th Machine Gun Battalion. He is survived by his father, stepmother, two sisters Mrs Charlies Barlow of Delnx and Mildred of Honesdale Pa, and brother Sergeant Charles Phelps C. S. 4, stationed at Portland, Ore.

St. Frisco a seven year old bay trotter owned by N. Davidson of Poughkeepsie died at Ba Geers barn in Memphis on Sunday. The horse earned over 50000 dollars in about four racing years and rivaled Mabel Trasx for season championships. He set a 2.01 in Poughkeepsie and had trotted at Goshep, well known to local horsemen.
