Narrow Escape Of Autoists From 15 Foot Fall
Six well known residents of the city survived a 15 foot plunge down an embankment near Oakland Valley in a Buick touring car. The vehicle struck a tree, preventing a rollover, and all occupants escaped unharmed. Those aboard were Professor James F. Tuthill and Mrs Tuthill, J C Bradney and Mrs Bradney, Miss Alice Prystal, and Miss Helen Denny. The party had been returning from supper by the Neversink River when the accident occurred.

Two Regimental Officers Die In War Looted Europe
New York Aug. 16 William F. King of the 205th Infantry has given his life in Flanders after being killed July 31. His brother serves at Pelham Bay Naval Training Camp. Lieut-Col Morris N Liebmann, acting commander of the 165th Infantry, 42nd Division New York National Guard, killed Aug. 3 leading his men in Flanders. He had long service from Brooklyn and other New York units and was vice-president of Foote Pierson & Co electrical suppliers. He was survived by his father Morris and a brother Walter.
