Social Security district manager Fred Globig said the May 31 initial enrollment cutoff for the voluntary Medicare medical insurance part remains open for certain people who turn 65 before March of this year due to illness, misinfo, or other issues. Eligible individuals can enroll through Sept 30, with coverage starting six months after enrollment. delaying past Sept 30 pushes enrollment to Oct 1, 1967 with higher premiums.
