Violent weekend claims two more in Middletown shootings
Four people, two women and two men, died from gunshot wounds in separate incidents 33 hours apart in Middletown. Anice Armstrong and Walter Armstrong were killed Saturday night near 18th Avenue, while Marla Pruden and Claude Jackson died this morning near 15th Avenue. Police found no connection between the two cases, and investigators described a fatal sequence in which Jackson shot Pruden at about 6:30 a.m. and then killed himself after the confrontation. Mrs. Armstrong and Mrs. Pruden were related to the victims and surviving family members are listed. Arrangements are pending at Joel F. Bailey Funeral Home.
