Ohio hosts statewide education forums in 33 districts
Educators legislators and citizens across Ohio will gather for simultaneous forums in all 33 Senate districts. The Ohio Education Association and six groups sponsor events from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 29 to showcase school achievements and discuss challenges. Senate District 7 hosts at Franklin High School. District 4 at Butler Technology in Hamilton County.

ATLANTA- The wife of one of three Gulf Services Co. workers seized in Iraq urged mercy for Jack Hensley 48 of Marietta and his colleagues Kenneth Bigley and Eugene Armstrong. A videotape aired by Al Jazeera showed the hostages blindfolded as militants linked to al Qaida threatened their beheading within two days. Patty Hensley described her husband as kind and nonviolent and said their 13 year old daughter misses him greatly. The kidnappings have drawn global attention amid reports of militant demands and ongoing bids to secure the captives’ freedom.

The history of Cincinnati-Dayton Road in Olde West Chester spans nearly six decades of life for Ezra H Britton and Bernice. Once a dirt route used on foot or by bus to Cincinnati, it evolved from a buffalo trail to a paved U.S. highway serving eastern Butler County. The road linked ten communities including Bethany, Maud, Olde West Chester, Gano, Monroe, Blue Ball, Franklin, Miamisburg, West Carrollton, Sharonville and Reading, remaining a central local thoroughfare across generations.
