Flying Saucer Mystery Described In Upper Air Test
In a new book by J Gordon Waeth a skyhook balloon flight at White Sands is linked to an unidentified flying object sighting on April 24 1949. An ellipsoid gleaming white object 2.5 times longer than wide moved fast above 17 miles, traced with a theodolite, and reported as one of the best substantiated unidentified object sightings.

Lima Man In Double Murder Arrested In Chicago
Sheriff W Ray Dailey returned 37 year old Frank Johanson from Chicago to Lima on a double murder case. Johanson, sought since August 25, was charged last week by the Allen County grand jury with two counts of first degree murder for the killings of Jack D Bankston 35 and Willie Parker 29 both of Lima.

Taft Ferguson to Testify at Senate Hearing
The Senate Elections subcommittee will hear complaints from both sides in Ohio's 1950 senate race though Taft and challenger Joseph Ferguson will not receive formal invitations. Chairman Gillette said date not set but hopes for next week. Investigators have been in Ohio since Labor Day.

West Unity Man Indicted for Slaying of Wife
Edwin M. Walters is indicted for first degree murder in the September 12 basement shooting of his wife Celia, 53, at their West Unity home. Prosecutor says Walters bought the revolver in Toledo on September 7 and claimed the gun fired accidentally during a struggle.
