Coroner Samuel R. Gerber says whisky mixed with Syntho-San can be lethal. Mrs. Lilliam Nolan, 46, died after drinking a 34 ounce whisky cocktail with three ounces of the compound at Five Points Cafe. The bartender mistook the fluid for ginger ale. no charges filed. Nolan survived by two sons and her parents.

Henry Weiss, a Toledo farmer, had two acres under oil after an 8 inch pipeline break beneath his six acre horse farm. Control valves in Toledo area were shut off, but oil reached fields to a depth of two feet. Horses were moved to safety as oil covered the meadow.
