Jury Reports Expected Next Wednesday in Meat Theft Case
Fairfield County special grand jury investigating stolen meat and gambling plans to report findings sometime Wednesday. Jury adjourned to allow prosecuting attorney W C Pickering and the court stenographer to prepare testimony for review. More than 50 witnesses testified, including Lancaster Police Chief Sam Hutsler, as charges of theft from the Swift and Company plant were pursued.

Daniels seeks new trial in murder case tied to six slayings
Daniels announced he would file a motion for a new trial alleging the verdict did not reflect the weight of evidence. If denied, Beam said Daniels may appeal.
