Butler County Democrats Prepare Lukens Challenge
Butler County Democrats consider filing suit to block State Sen. Donald E Lukens from running again. Party chair David L. Smith says a suit, with Luella Schroeder named plaintiff and Richard Koehler attorney, could be filed soon, though both indicated uncertainty about their role. Source notes Lukens was penalized in 1972 for late expense reports, a ban later removed in 1974, and questions whether the Secretary of State or Supreme Court governs the issue.
