Latin America Through One Traveler’s Eyes and Bumpy Rides
Middletown resident Ron Lawrence spent two months traveling solo across Latin America from Mexico to Venezuela. He visited governments with letters from U S officials, met locals, and noted costs, schooling, and family life. He observed varied scenery, from Mexican pyramids to Chilean ski slopes, but cited travel costs and transport hassles as major challenges. Lawrence majored in government and international relations at Miami University and aims to deepen his understanding of regional people and problems.
