Notrump liberties in a championship bridge hand
In a 1968 Olympiad women's match, South Africa and Italy faced bold notrump bids. South Africa opened light notrump and, with Gerda Goslar Rita Jacobson, missed several tricks, while Alma Schnieder Petra Mansell pursued aggressive diamonds. South Africa gained about 450 points from peppery bidding across tables, though one contract went down four when East West scored eight tricks.
