Earliest People Knew Of Demons
From ancient times people spoke of evil spirits and demons before writing. Babylonian priests made demon images to drive sickness away, while Egyptians feared Set as the worst demon. Zoroaster named many demons led by Ahriman, and Satan appears in Bible lore as the Devil with various titles. Medieval miracle plays depict Satan with horns and a tail.
