UMW Pickets Bar Mine Entrance

In Zanesville Ohio the United Mine Workers picketed Banks Coal Company mine one mile south of Roseville. Fifty UMW workers formed the line with two deputy sheriffs present. Organizer Walter Kovaleski said the action aimed to unionize the mine while operator Wayne Banks planned to seek a court injunction on picket numbers. An unrelated note explains egg breakage forces.
