Judge Marrs vows to punish drug sellers in shock probation ruling

In Hamilton, Butler County Common Pleas Judge Robert L. Marrs denies release under the shock treatment statute for Bruce W. Hutchinson, a 20 year old Cincinnati youth sentenced to 10 to 20 years for possession of hallucinogenic drugs for sale. The judge urges stiff punishment as a deterrent, saying narcotics sales on campus or city streets endanger lives and fuel other crimes. Hutchinson, arrested May 4 in a narcotics raid, had worked in Lebanon’s narcotics education program during confinement and faces parole eligibility in 38 months with good behavior.
