Fewer Runaway Teens But Girls Rise in Numbers
Washington AP reports a decline in missing teenage runaways in the first half of 1971 across 13 cities, with 481 runaways found compared to 705 in 1970. Female runaways have increased while male numbers fall, and experts attribute shifts to greater awareness of legal issues and access to contraception.
