Jury urges recovery of state loans in Ohio case
Columbus AP The special Franklin County Grand Jury urged State Treasurer John D. Herbert and Atty. General Paul W. Brown to recover 12 million dollars from Four Seasons Nursing Centers of America and King Resources Inc. The panel studied an audit on alleged illegal loans and investments in commercial paper. The group will reconvene September 4 or sooner if more testimony is available. The recommendation targets public funds allegedly loaned beyond the 50 million dollar limit. Campaign contributions from Crofters Inc. tied to the loans affected GOP endorsements for Herbert and Robin Turner. Four Seasons Nursing Centers of Amelia Inc. is in bankruptcy linked to the case.
