Window-Smashing Spree Leads to 30 Day Jail Terms

A 200-pound Vietnam veteran testified about a spree of window smashing and destruction of property at the Central Store and VFW Club. The judge ordered concurrent 30 day sentences for Aug 3 and Aug 16 incidents. Several defendants pleaded guilty to related charges and fines were imposed, with some suspensions conditioned on leaving the city.

Trenton Officer Reinstated After Suspension

Patrolman Daniel Browning, 24, was reinstated with full privileges by the Trenton city council less than two weeks after a suspension over a dispute with Mayor Ray Collinsworth. The council, after hearing both Browning and Chief Hubert Adams, voted unanimously to restore him following a brief executive session.
