Faith Miller a Seattle-born airline stewardess, recalled guiding 15 passengers from the torn tail of a C46 at Toledo Express Airport after a crash that killed 16 California Polytechnic football players among 48 aboard. She helped extinguish flames, risking her safety to rescue others before hospital care.
Survivors of a flaming C4 airliner crash near Toledo report sputtering engines and a wobbly takeoff in heavy fog. The 48 passengers included 28 Cal Poly football players and staff. Twenty two died, including the pilot co pilot and 16 team members.
