California Typical Tourist Drives Economy to 2.7 Billion
A private study for California tourism offices finds the typical visitor is a 35 year old married man with a wife and child, traveling by car to Disneyland or Fisherman’s Wharf. Cars accounted for 10.3 million arrivals and planes for 5.8 million, with auto and air travelers generating 1.1 and 1.6 billion dollars respectively. Disneyland was the top draw, followed by Fisherman’s Wharf, Marineland, Chinatown in San Francisco, Knott’s Berry Farm, and other attractions.
