Kissinger urges India to cooperate on nuclear arms control

Haunted house incident leaves teen in critical condition

In Bellevue Washington Brad Lundgren 15 narrowly escaped death after a mock hangman rope around his neck tightened as he fell to his knees in a haunted house exhibit. Fire crews reached him with no pulse but revived him and he remained in critical condition.

Ohio welfare payments rise for nursing homes

Welfare Director Charles Bates announced a budget boost for Ohio nursing and rest homes, adding at least 8.1 million dollars in fiscal year 1975. Increases vary from 2.48 to 4.73 dollars per patient day for nonskilled care and up to 5 dollars for skilled care, with per day rates ranging from 12.75 to 17 dollars for nonskilled and 12.75 to 19 dollars for skilled care.

Food poisoning sickens 70 after church supper

Cincinnati health officials probe an apparent food poisoning from a Sunday church supper at Jerrill Baptist Church. About 100 attendees fell ill during the Women’s Day festival, with 70 hospitalized. Contaminated baked ham suspected. General Hospital treated 25, Children’s Hospital 15 children.

Former Ohio governor Herbert buried on 80th birthday

Thomas J. Herbert former Ohio governor and state attorney general was buried at Lakeside Cemetery after a memorial service in Columbus. He died Saturday night in a Columbus area nursing home after a long illness. Survivors include two sons Daniel and John D. Herbert and two daughters Rosemary Gills and Metta Lewis.
