An Agriculture Department analysis shows about 1.47 billion bushels of corn carried over Oct 1, 1979, the highest since 1964, with roughly one third locked under a three year storage program. The report also notes slightly lower domestic corn use and a smaller wheat carryover, amid good winter wheat planting progress but dry spells in some regions.
The Ohio Right To Life Society reports 48.7 percent of candidates favor a human life amendment and opposed abortion funding with tax dollars. About 14.5 percent oppose the amendment when the mother’s life is at risk, 22 percent noncommittal, and 14.5 percent not responding.
