Nixon milk deal letter prompts dairy aid push

Investigators obtained a December 16 1970 letter addressed to Nixon from Pat Hillings of Associated Milk Producers Inc. urging approval of new milk tariffs and citing 2 million dollars in 1972 campaign funds. Plane crashes into Guanabara Bay in Rio

An airliner sank after crashing into Guanabara Bay in Rio de Janeiro. Most passengers swam to safety. over 20 were rescued from the fuselage as the plane floated for about 10 minutes before sinking. The craft was a Japanese Samurai with Rolls Royce engines on a shuttle to Belo Horizonte.

Nobel Prize in Physics Awarded to Esaki Graever and Josephson
