Tax refunds total over wartime excess profits reach thirty two million
The Internal Revenue Bureau reported refunds of 32,036,353 to 5,169 firms over six years for excess profits tax. In the year ended June 30, 16,672,162 of the total was paid. Among the top refunds was Mahoning Mining Co of Youngstown, Ohio, at 200,655. Louis Martell in Montgomery Vermont says his box trap bait secures 32 bears in two and a half years, and he will not reveal the exact bait to avoid competition.
