Slaying at Roller Haven Leads to Three Held in Warren County
Three Dayton men are jailed in Lebanon awaiting charges in the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Joel Craig Hunter outside Roller Haven Skating Rink in eastern Middletown. Witnesses said a car fire four shots, the victim dying at Middletown Hospital. Hunter was a 1969 Middletown High School graduate and Armco Steel employee.

Indicted in loan scandal names four on bribery probe
Four men were indicted by a Franklin County grand jury in a state loan scandal probe. Named in court records are Gerald A. Donahue former state Tax Commissioner Harry Groban Sidney Griffith and James B. Lore a former SERS investment officer. Prosecutor C Howard Johnson declined to comment on indictments until warrants are served. No warrants had been served last night. One report said none of the indicted were state officials. The case centers on Crofters Inc a money funding firm linked to loans from the state treasurer and SERS totaling tens of millions of dollars. Donahue and the Crofters owners deny illegal action.

Maj. Gen. Edward C. D. Scherrer commander of the Joint U.S. Military Mission to Turkey and Brig. Gen. Claude M.
