Adams County crash on U S 52 near Manchester killed five people and left one in critical condition. John W Blake 23 of Chesapeake drove into a semi truck driven by Floyd Rodgers 49 of Pasadena Texas and then collided with Edward Shivener 28 of Manchester. Blake and Shivener died along with three Blake passengers Conley Hunt Jr 17 Greasy Ridge James Pine 17 Chesapeake Earl Ray Leffingwell 17 Proctorville. Rodgers escaped unhurt and guided the burning car away to prevent explosion until help arrived.
