Seals spared as UK halts cull amid protest surge
After a week of debate the British government canceled plans to kill hundreds of seals off Orkney waited amid GreenPeace pressure and public outcry. Officials said a 2,000 pup limit would stand while Norwegians for 40 000 dollars were recalled and a review of seal populations began. Greenpeace called the move limited and warned authorities to verify data before future hunts.
