Kissinger Arrives In Peking
Kissinger arrived in Peking to arrange Nixon’s visit, with about 20 Chinese officials and an equal number of cars greeting the presidential Boeing 707. He and his party left the plane after roughly 10 minutes, watched by foreign reporters and diplomats as a large anti American imperialism slogan loomed at the airport. The official Peking press did not flag the arrival, while articles accused American and Japanese imperialists of colluding to seize Taiwan.
