Donald Newhouse production manager of the stricken Oregonian was wounded by a shotgun blast through a basement window. The 41 year old cousin of S I Newhouse owner of the Oregonian and Conde Nast was hit in the hip and thigh and hospitalized in fair condition after surgery. About six feet above him the shot entered his side as police noted. Some 100 shot pieces were recovered. several embedded deeply.
