Cincinnati May Not Fund Freedom Center Budget Clash
Cincinnati officials propose a two year budget with no funds for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Mayor Charlie Luken says city money should focus on streets and buildings first. Since 1997 the city has contributed over 6 million toward the center which opened along the Ohio River shore in August. The museum commemorates the Underground Railroad and has raised 102 million from private and government sources.
