A nonprofit ear bank for transplants will be unveiled at the University of Cincinnati during a symposium for a new surgical system. Dr S George Lesinski says mail orderable transplant materials including eardrums and small ear bones can be delivered to hospitals. The bank holds material for about 70 transplants from cadavers. Lesinski reports 18 transplants in the last year with a 90 percent success rate but notes three-year study. it cannot help hearing loss from nerve damage.
