Updated Map Of Pacific Ocean Floor Now In Print
National Geographic releases a full color two sided map of the Pacific Ocean floor showing a waterless vast terrain with hundreds of submarine mountains and deep trenches. The project by Heinrich Berann and researchers Bruce Heezen and Marie Tharp covers 64 million square miles and includes Mauna Kea and the Mariana Trench. The edition marks a milestone with a 6.5 million map run on web offset presses.
