New Lincoln Photo and Poem Discovered in Look Magazine
Historian Stefan Lorant notes a 1863 Gardner photograph of Abraham Lincoln and a short doggerel mocking General Robert E. Lee. The image dates to Aug 9 1863, shortly after Gettysburg, and was given to Lincoln's secretary John Hay. The poem, dated July 19 1863, appears in Look magazine with the image.
