Income Tax Rolls Dropwide Drop In Tax Filings

Officials blame recession and fewer part time workers though final figures may show a larger drop. Despite the lower filings, tax collections rose by over two billion dollars to around 40.5 billion, suggesting many missing filers had little income. IRS hopes the missing taxpayers return next year with prosperity.
