Court Rules Du Pont Can Keep GM Shares
CHICAGO AP A federal court order severing ties between DuPont and General Motors avoids a mass stock sale. The ruling bans voting rights, bars influence by Du Pont interests in GM management, and shifts voting to individual Du Pont shareholders. The government may appeal but the court retains enforcement and review rights. Crawford H. Greenewalt, Du Pont president, said the decision was gratifying.
