Harry Wishart a 68 year old mechanic was buried with a tiny one cylinder car he made. The 200 pound vehicle five feet long and one and a half feet high sat atop his casket with driver’s feet in stirrups. Wishart had built three such cars and the craft traveled about 12 miles an hour.
In London Ontario a student built a device to measure kiss intensity using an electrode between partners lips and alpha wave tension readings. Dean J. B. Collip banned the project before its public debut at a Port Stanley dance, citing propriety concerns.
The nation’s railroads ask the Interstate Commerce Commission for an eight per cent rise in freight rates, potentially adding 672.5 million dollars to annual freight costs.
