Study under way may close Chillicothe Reformatory
Federal Prison Bureau officials say a study at Chillicothe Reformatory may shift use or transfer younger offenders elsewhere as part of a nationwide review. The 1000 inmate facility could be converted for older offenders if found suitable, with six months to draft recommendations. Governor Rhodes pledged to protect jobs and seek state options if the federal prison closes.
