Council Boosts Pay of Judge in Hamilton

Hamilton municipal judge Harry F. Walsh will earn 7500 dollars annually after city council action last night. The measure falls short of the 9400 dollar request by Emminger, Bruck, and Mayor Beckett, but is said to be better than nothing. If not approved, Walsh would have seen 5400 next year. Resignation of Frank Rosenendahl reduced the council to six and produced a three three deadlock. Beckett, Emminger, and Bruck aligned with the opposing trio to pass the ordinance, effective January 1. The note ends with an unrelated mention that 40 silk worm cocoons could encircle the world.
