Couple Hurt In Early Morning Crash On Yankee Road
Mrs Mable Brewer 30 and her husband Charles Brewer 31 were injured at 3 am when Mrs Brewer driving south on Yankee Road near Lafayette Avenue lost control after being blinded by lights from an oncoming car. She was admitted to Middletown Hospital in fair condition with facial and leg injuries. her husband was treated and released. A neon sign at the Meadows fell after the crash and damage to the Brewer car was estimated at 650 dollars.

Three Children Die In Fire In Lisbon Ohio
A two story frame home on Ohio 9 west of Lisbon burned killing three children of Joseph Sayle and injuring him. The victims were Here 8, Judy 10, and Melvin. Armco Worker Burned Relights Soaking Pit Fall
Arpad Singhoffer, 56, of 2402 Elmo Place, fell into a cooled soaking pit at Armco East Works in Middletown at 5 am today. He sustained extensive first degree burns over most of his body and some second degree burns but was listed in satisfactory condition. Crane operator Edgar Mullins, 104 Gideon Road, pulled him from the pit and he was transported to Middletown Hospital by Armco ambulance. Singhoffer has 33 years with Armco as a heater in the soaking pits.

Middletown Ohio Bell office posted an all time high of 4907 long distance calls on Wednesday led by local commercial manager Hugh Harvey. The day before Thanksgiving last year saw 4717 calls while the average for Monday and Tuesday hovered around 4400, 150 above normal. Most calls went to state points with a slowdown 6 to 9 pm.

Carl Lawson aged 45 of 730 Park Ave Franklin suffered a laceration of the lower lip in an auto accident in the Franklin area last night. He was treated at Middletown Hospital at 6 45 p m and dismissed. No further details were available this morning.
