Prospects good for farmers as corn prices rise
Agriculture Department economists report the 1972 corn crop averaged $1.60 per bushel, the highest in 21 years, with prices near record highs expected to hold into next spring. Farm prices rose to $2.17 at the farm by Oct. 15 and Chicago prices around $2.50 mid November, driven by tight supplies and strong demand.
