Area food price hike tops U S city gains

Food prices rose 1.9 percent in September, led by Cincinnati with the largest city increase among 23 surveyed. Grocery costs are 14.6 percent higher over 12 months, with a $10 bill up to $11.46 in Cincinnati. The AP market basket shows Cincinnati up 12 percent from Oct 1 to Nov 1, while Cleveland and Columbus fell.
