Investigation Clears Truck Driver In Crash
No charges will be filed after a Tuesday night car truck crash in Middletown that killed 23 year old Richard Cottle. Passenger James Back, 25, is hospitalized with head injuries and other wounds. Edward L. Nielly, 40, of Washington DC drove the truck. investigation found the car was traveling at high speed when it struck the truck. Funeral services for Cottle are set for 10 am Saturday at McCoy Leffler Funeral Home with burial at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may go to the Edward Johnson Fund care of the Legion Auxiliary.

One man suffered minor injuries in a two car crash on U S 25 one mile north of Route 122. Robert S. Baker 51 of 6550 Nato Lane Franklin was treated at Middletown Hospital for facial lacerations and possible chest injuries then dismissed. He was cited for an improper turn after attempting a left turn in front of a northbound vehicle driven by Jack Cartier 25 of 4530 Dixie Highway Franklin. Damages to both cars totaled about 250 dollars.
